New Petite Blythe knitting patterns

New patterns! New patterns!

I wrote summer themed patterns for Petite Blythe over a year ago: Ombre Bathing Suit for Petite Blythe and Hairbands for Petite Blythe. Finally, they are written up for Petite fans.

Shop link:  https://www.etsy.com/shop/BlytheKnits

The patterns are sold separately.  The swim suit has dyeing tips and explanations.  Coming soon is swim suits for Neo Blythe.  I had a request through Ravelry.  I'm working on several styles and fine tuning them.  Hopefully I will have them ready by next week.

Updates

Wow, life has moved fast lately.

In the real world I now have a third grader and I graduated with my Master of Science in Library Science from Clarion University of Pennsylvania.  And, we bought a house.  The renovations are nearly complete.

In my dolly world, I sold majority of my Pullips.  I have only 1 Pullip (Sticca), 3 Taeyangs (for now), and 1 Dal.

I can't remember what my last Blythe list was here.  Here goes:

EBL- Bohemian Beats, Disco Boogie

SBL- Can Can Cat, Pow Wow Poncho, I Love You It's True

RBL- Simply Mango, Sunshine Holiday, Prima Dolly Saffy, Cassiopeia Spice, Prairie Prose, Angelica Eve, Bohemian Peace

RBL+ and FBL- Mandy Cotton Candy, Hi Ho Marine, Simply Vanilla

Custom African American Factory and a soon to be customized translucent TBL or Factory

Middies-

Furry Bella Bo, Nelly Nibbles, Macaroon Q-Tea Party, Lily Brown, Suzie Hysteric, Melomelomew.

The newest Petites are Suri and Rendez Chou Chou.

Blythe house mates aka my daughter's dolls-

Simply Chocolate and Nicki Lad.  The Pepe (purple haired middie) will be arriving by sleigh at Christmas. ;)

Also, new Wonderfrogs moved in!

I hope for life to slow down now that I have graduated and I can start sharing doll post again.

New patterns

Since I have had a break from school the pattern making has come all at once.  I have new patterns in the works, newly published patterns, and an update on an old pattern.

New middie pattern is Felted Helmet for Middie:

And, 2-3, or 4 more patterns to come.  One will be free!

I had some questions on the Romper for Blythe which led me to rework the pattern.  I added a few new details and features:

Keep an eye out for more to come.  I have exactly 5 more days until my summer school starts which I hope to have a lot more up and going before then.

New Year!

I'm going on my 4th year of Blythe!  It has flown by fast!!

I'm doing a bit of doll selling again.  It is time for a change in my house.  I recently sold my Prima Dolly Ginger. It was a hard decision. She has been with my for a long time but it was time for her to go to a new home.

I am currently selling my Silver Snow. She doesn't get any play time from me. I may sell a girl that I just got also...Merry Skier.  For some reason, we aren't bonding.  It is sad really.  I have a friend who got her also and she LOVES her.  I guess different strokes for different folks.

Before Christmas I depressed-bought 2 new dolls.  It's been a tough December.  It did brighten my holiday when the 2 Icy dolls arrived on my last day of work before Christmas! I ran to the post office to pick them up and opened with my boss.

I got the Leek girl, or *Coser* correction her name is Hatsune Miku, and the Empress.

Hatsune Miku *Coser*, which I named Leek (original, huh?), is by far my favorite of the two. I'm so glad I finally decided on her.  Her hair is luscious.  I tamed it out of the pigtails pretty well by wetting it and a head hugging hat.  I was very impressed with the thatching on the pigtails.  I mean, look at this:

WOW!

She has already had a make over:

This photo has a filter.  I stupidly did not save the other photo I took in daytime to my Camera Roll on my iPhone.

I really love her bright red eye make up.  I was keeping her eye closed to make sure the glitter paint was dry.  I rushed putting the eyemech back in....I just couldn't wait to see her together!!

The Empress's hair is inferior by comparison.  It feels a bit fried.  I may reroot her hair in mohair.  For a long time I've lusted for an Icy on Flickr with lemon yellow mohair. (Here's her link:  http://www.flickr.com/photos/ililziv/5925395907/)  Her dress is really lovely though.

I forgot to mention their eye chips!  OMG, absolutely the best part. They are much more diverse than Blythe.   Leek has light tan, yellow, light green, and light blue.  Empress has light blue with foils, toffee, pink (erlack), and emerald.  Only ones I would pull out is the pink. I'm not a fan.

Their arms seem to be a better quality of plastic than Champagne, my first Icy.  The clothing did not stain their arms and the plastic seems to be thicker.  I thought I was going to poked the wire though on Champagne.

The legs are a 3-click system like Blythe rather than the bendy Licca legs.

 And finally, my shop update.

With my first semester of grad school under my belt (I made all A's!) I am restocking my Etsy shop, BlytheKnits.

I've become pretty obsessed with find my Blythes vintage Skipper clothing.  I have some duplicates that I am preparing for my shop.  They are Skipper and Barbie clothes that circa 1963-66.  I've been doing "little laundry" as my family calls it.

Also, new this year is Skipper inspired Mod Dresses.

They are made from wool/wool-blend felt with snap closures.

I hope to get the vintage item ready for sale this weekend.

* I think Coser is a brand name or something.

Nymph and Middies

Wow, I need to do a follow up post on several things from earlier in the year.  Like a comparison post on my Middies.  This is something I still want to do with Milk and Honey and one of the others.

Something else I mention was changing my Simply Guava Nymph's scalp to Cappuccino Chat scalp.  Well, I did it! It is amazing to see how different a doll can look with new hairs.  Here she is:

Updating

I am a serial negligent blog owner.  I have had a few things going on since my Silver Snow post, whom by the way is know as Snow.

I sold my Icy doll and a few other items that allowed me to purchase a Cassiopeia Spice Blythe.  Poor girl has been a bit neglected along with my blog.  Just about immediately after receiving her I got really sick with an ear infection.

The ear infection has knocked me for a loop for about 2 weeks.  I am still struggling with it and fear that my hearing is damaged.

Any who.

Very few dolly related things have been happening.  I find when I do not feel knitting or sewing for them, that I should not force it.  I just get frustrated.

I am attempting spring cleaning though.  I went through the clothing that I have made and posted them for sale on my Etsy shop, BlytheKnits.

Plus, a new Etsy store is in the works. I am splitting up my shop items.  Once craft and other miscellaneous items listings expire they will be added to a new shop strictly for craft and vintage items.  BlytheKnits will remain Blythe related items.

I expect my sales will still be hit or miss, but this way it is more organized!

Middies and more

I seem to have lost touch with my blog.  Not sure where the time has gone.

As a previous post said, I am working on re-designing some patterns.  I am also creating new ones! I have 3 new Middie patterns and 1 Petite pattern that are close to immediate release.

After those are ready I have another that I need to be tested.

Just a few updated things-

I am expecting Fleur home sometime in the next 2 or 3 weeks.  I was notified by China-Lilly yesterday that she was ready to fly back to the US.

My two new Middies made it to me last Friday!  Little Lily Brown has been named Lydia.  Milk and Honey is still nameless.  I will soon write a comparison between the Macaroon Q Tea Party and Little Lily Brown versus Milk and Honey.  Some things don't seem to be equal.

I have my Coraline (formerly known as Snowden) complete.  Now I am working on clothing and gathering toy items for her. Plus, I am planning a toy chest!

After much thought, I am removing Nymph's (Simply Guava) pink hair.  I am not a fan of pink. I purchased a Cappuccino Chat scalp for her!

I have started a face up on my Icy.  I feel bad that she does not have a name.  I like her red hair, but something is just not working for me. I hope to sell the Guava scalp to pay for some lemony yellow mohair.

Something else that has been going on Hybrids! I have Cat-ladies and a Deer-lady.

Never say Never

Something I learned from my husband is never say never.  It is good savvy advice.  In April (here is the post) I said I was finished buying Blythes and the I am happy with the ones I currently owned....hahhaha...laughing hysterically.

I have since then, bought 2 dolls and traded one.  I now own, in order from most recent acquisition:

Takara Friendly Freckles (RBL, named George)
Takara Simply Vanilla (FBL, named Fleur)
Takara Angelica Eve (RBL, named Sparrow)
Takara Fruit Punch (EBL, named Pansy)
Takara Simply Guava (RBL, named Nymph)
Factory Blythe (RBL, named Lilith)
Takara Prima Dolly Ginger (SBL, named Ginger)
Takara Very Vicky (FBL, named Victoria)
ADG Roaring Red (named Snowden)
Takara Simply Mango (RBL, named Ginny)

I have two custom clones but I can't remember when I bought them.

I think I have a nice variety now.

I am in the process of re-customizing my Roaring Red.  And I now leave you with images of cuteness.

Neglect

Lately, my mind has wondered away from my Blythes.  I put a spending freeze on myself due to the extreme cost of supplies.  I seem to change my mind about the eye chips, etc., before they arrive and before I knew it, I was putting in another order!

Right now, I am destashing heavily. I am getting rid of all my wigs and some eye chips.  Soon clothing will be hit pretty hard, too. One day I thought, why am I keeping these items when I have no intentions using them?

My doll that I purchased from Australia will soon have mohair.  Here is a photo from Strings and Things on Etsy.

Stephanie was a pleasure to work with if anyone is looking for a mohair connection.  I am really excited to start.  This will be my first rooting experience.  I hope all goes well!!

If I have left overs I plan to root my Apple Sweet Angel Petite Blythe.  Her hair is ferocious since I took the braids out.

I officially no longer have a boy in my collection.  I did not convert him to a girl.  I just couldn't do it.  I am destashing him as well.

Soon, I hope to get a nice group photos of all my girls.
