Blythe a Day June 14th-17th

June 14th: Tell me a story- Rabbit want a story about cowboys.

June 15th: Heart- Ginny is wild at heart.

June 16th: What's in your pocket?- Gatsby has a half eaten gingerbread man in her pocket.  At least he looks happy about it.

June 17th: You've got mail- Sun says, "Open the Birchbox, woman!" Someone is impatient.

I'm skipping June 12th.  I can't get myself motivated to go back.

Still around!

Seems that all of my latest blog entries have had the theme "I'm still here."  I am.  Christmas came and went.  I did knit a lot but sewing was a complete bust.  I am hoping for a little easier semester ahead of me.  I have the spring semester and a 5 week summer semester left!  My internship will extend on into August and hopefully I will have my hours complete with a diploma in my hand!!

Since it is the new year I guess I should join the flock and post my goals and resolutions.

Goal #1, Graduate
Goal #2, Yarn stash bust
Goal #3, Do my best to not add anymore dolls to my collection.
Goal #4, Only buy yarn with a project in mind and start immediately.

Since I'm trying not to buy more dolls, the ones that I have (like my Pullips) will go into storage.  This way I will keep the same ones and bring them back out like a kid with old/new toys!  In theory this should work, I will see.

I am moving sometime late spring/early summer.  Actually I am moving one house over from my current house, but I have a lot of things to go through before then.  Many items are going to charity.  It is just time to declutter.  It is so hard!  The best part about the new house is that I will be getting a sewing/craft/doll room!!  YAY!

I close this entry with a photo I took last night of my new Luxie Lou shirts:

Michael (Furry Bella Bo), Natty (I Love You Its True), and all of my little Chihauhuas.
Tico and Roo are my real life Chihuahuas. :)

Lil' Tico

I browsed through my past blog post and found that I never showed off my Hujoo Wawa's customized paint!

I knitted him a little hat and scarf.

Pansy is saying good bye

For awhile now Pansy, Takara EBL Fruit Punch, has been unhappy here.  She is cute but I am feel less content with her.  Plus, I am feeling my Blythe family is getting out of hand.

I found a trade offer on Blythe Kingdom about a custom work for a trade of an EBL doll.  I jumped on it. I am sending Fleur, Simply Vanilla, on a spa vacation to China Lilly in Australia.  She will return home with face up, new lashes, 4 new eye chips (2 Brain Worm and 2 hand painted), custom pull cords and lip carving.

I am super happy with the trade.

Good bye, Pansy!

New addition!!

I got a middie!  She is super cute here is some photos:

Size comparison, Angelica Eve, Macaroon Q Tea Party, and Kitchen Queen.

She is perpetually sad looking.

Clothing by me.  I used the Puchi Collective patterns at a smaller ratio.

The poor girl doesn't have a name yet.

I also purchased/traded a SBL Skate Date from a friend.  I am contemplating lip carving and other customizations.

I am ordering Hujoo Pastels to use on my Hujoo Wawa. My pastel are just not working.  I am hoping to use them on my Skate Date also.

Hopefully, finished photos of Sally will be coming up! I need to get her finished before starting any other projects.

My very own wawa

This little guy came to my house.  I had to let him out (and pet him and snugly him) while my husband was not home.  Joe, husband, is jealous that I got to play with my Christmas toy and his has been strictly forbidden.

No, I am not fair.

Mahahaha.

Never say Never

Something I learned from my husband is never say never.  It is good savvy advice.  In April (here is the post) I said I was finished buying Blythes and the I am happy with the ones I currently owned....hahhaha...laughing hysterically.

I have since then, bought 2 dolls and traded one.  I now own, in order from most recent acquisition:

Takara Friendly Freckles (RBL, named George)
Takara Simply Vanilla (FBL, named Fleur)
Takara Angelica Eve (RBL, named Sparrow)
Takara Fruit Punch (EBL, named Pansy)
Takara Simply Guava (RBL, named Nymph)
Factory Blythe (RBL, named Lilith)
Takara Prima Dolly Ginger (SBL, named Ginger)
Takara Very Vicky (FBL, named Victoria)
ADG Roaring Red (named Snowden)
Takara Simply Mango (RBL, named Ginny)

I have two custom clones but I can't remember when I bought them.

I think I have a nice variety now.

I am in the process of re-customizing my Roaring Red.  And I now leave you with images of cuteness.

My New Girl

My second Black Beauty Blythe project is finished! In Arkansas we got the third snow of the year this past week; fortunately, my doll (head rather) arrived just in time to beat the it!  I took a bit of time off on Tuesday afternoon to get her painted before the storm.  I am so glad I did, she has turned out lovely!

Sad part is she has no name yet.  I like real human names for most part.  The nature-ish names are for my petites (Applesauce, Moon Flower, etc.).  I have broken the rules with Stone and I may name my RBL from Australia, Rabbit.  I am just stumped on this little lady.

All the same here are some photos:

So far all that has been altered is spray tan for the face plates and scalp, body transplant, and strawberry blonde hair wefting. One of the first things I change is the eye chips, except this time.  They are such a chore to change in Basaak dolls I just didn't bother.  Plus, the ones I ordered are still on their way.

New girl is wearing a coat from the Etsy shop Cheekiepea, and the boots are Vintage World of Love doll accessory. What you can't see on the coat is the Chihuahua chefs!

A new project is coming up, my girl from down under! But, more on her later!

Meet Ginny

Meet Ginny!

She was my very first Blythe doll.  I was so excited seeing a chihuahua, I was counting down the days until she was release in April (2010).  The only modifications are the freckles and snipping her fringe to look more natural. I used a tutorial from Puchi Collective.* She is a Takara Simply Mango.

I am a member of the knitting and crochet community on Ravelry. I found Blythe while searching through doll clothing.  How could I not love such a unusual doll? When people ask about Blythes, I describe her as a Betty Boop head with a Skipper body.

In the photos she is wearing a dress of my design. The shoes are from This is Blythe (I have seen them on Etsy, too.) Her little chihuahua friend is wearing my sweater pattern.
